Privacy, permissions & limitations

Know what runs.
Know what stays local.

Clear access and data boundaries for the website and the experimental extension.

The website and demo

Guardian Research Lab has no registration, payments, first-party analytics or advertising cookies. The interactive demo stores its synthetic records in this browser’s local storage. They are not uploaded to a Guardian service. Clearing this site’s browser data removes those demo records.

Cloudflare serves the website and processes network requests, which can include IP addresses and request metadata. This is separate from the extension’s local research history. Cloudflare privacy policy ↗

The extension

Research histories and preferences are stored locally in the extension’s IndexedDB or Chrome storage. There is no Guardian cloud-sync service, telemetry endpoint, login or payment collection. The optional external comparison feed sends requests and your supplied key to The Odds API only when you configure it. Its key is held in Chrome session storage and excluded from history exports.

Exports contain the records you choose to download. Keep those files private if they include your notes or reported financial results. Website demo storage and installed extension storage are separate.

Permissions in the current build

PermissionWhy it is present
All website hostsThe prototype supports games inside cross-origin provider frames. The manifest currently requests <all_urls> and injects a bootstrap across frames. This is broad access, not a least-permission public-store release.
debugger, scripting, webNavigationAttach selected capture modes, inject supported readers and follow game-frame navigation. Debugger capture can inspect selected game network events.
activeTab, tabs, tabCaptureSelect the current page, manage sports watch tabs and, when chosen, capture a tab for local visual analysis.
offscreenRun local background analysis and bundled OCR.
storageKeep preferences, sessions and local records.
sidePanel, alarmsDisplay the research workspace and schedule the optional comparison watch.

Review the downloadable manifest.json and source before loading. Do not use it on sensitive browsing sessions unless you are comfortable with these permissions. A narrower, independently reviewed distribution build remains future work.

Research boundaries

Guardian does not submit real wagers automatically. The sports bankroll is simulated. A restricted casino helper can prepare a supported native draft; the final wager remains a separate user action. Capture support is partial and may break when provider layouts change.

Market-implied probabilities are not independent predictions. History frequency, a passed test suite, a favourable paper run or a conditional arbitrage screen does not establish an enduring profit advantage. Unknown results remain pending.

Operator rules and independence

This is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by BetMGM, Chrome, Cloudflare or any bookmaker. Operator rules may prohibit automated tools or observation. Review the current rules before live use; the public demo is available without interacting with any gambling service. BetMGM sportsbook rules ↗

Sports and casino features are for adults 18+ and authorised research use. There is no promise of winnings, no paid tip service and no automatic staking of real money.
